The World Headquarters building is fantastic with a lot of amenities. I was surprised at first by the amount of wonderful art in the building. The gym is great and cheap for 10 dollars a month. You can work one-on-one with the trainers for no additional fee. I find the culture and environment very positive overall. You will find many caring individuals and smiling faces. Challenging work. Opportunities for learning are encouraged. 401k match is excellent. Great focus on safety, clean energy, diversity and the community.
As an outsider coming into OC you must adapt quickly to the unspoken rules. 1. Many processes exist in tribal knowledge only. Forget about documentation, there is none. It may have existed 2 previous employees ago but there is no formal knowledge management. No one owns the process. 2. You can't change the process even if everyone sees it's wrong. No one knows why it's just how it's done. 3. Visibility and perception are more important than actual work completion and achieving goals. Health Care Benefits are poor. Medical - High out-of-pocket costs that are above state average. High co-pays and premiums. Dental - I would consider average unless you need orthodontia then you will max out on benefits quickly. Work/life balance is poor. The hours are long and variable based on projects or time of year. There is little to no resource planning during the year so expect more work than you can handle. **This isn't to be confused with flexible scheduling which does exist and is great.
