I worked at PHH Mortgage full-time (More than a year)
The hours were decent, not may late nights. The management at the time was in transition and resisted change towards compliance. The relationship between consultants working in house and actual employees was collaborative. Lots of lifetime employees.
Movement of employees without proper notice or explanation. More transparency about long term goals for teams would've been appreciated and help to make teams stronger. Lack of core values and support for compliance and change management.
Advice to Management
Ensure that changes are communicated properly and attempt to get rid of the every department for itself mentality. It would be beneficial to have a team building exercise and make compliance at least slightly more attractive to those making the internal, hard changes.
