I worked at PMT Ambulance full-time (More than 3 years)
Growing 911 services. Lots of opportunity for new EMTs getting into the business. Good springboard to working at a fire department. Good training department.
Small corporate structure, very few decision makers available day to day. No bonus structure or recognition for going the extra mile. CEO is micro-manager with profit as ultimate motivator, mostly by stepping on the little guys.
Advice to Management
Consider providing bonus structure or some other form of reward system for employees who come up with good ideas to make your business better. No company party? Nothing to ever look forward to. Could also form charity committees and ask for volunteers to do community work, or something to build camaraderie. Very disjointed employee base without access corporate officials to hear our complaints.
