PepsiCo offers great benefits to its employees, and competitive pay for these type jobs. Hard working people on the front line.

Misguided leadership on non sustainable metrics has been killing this market for years. Coke is killing Pepsi in Tampa as the local leadership has no answer for Coke's aggressive strategies aimed at Pepsi Beverages. Positioning, pricing, equipment placement, customer support, and customer relationships are Coke's focus each and everyday, whereas Pepsi keeps focusing on the short term weekly volume goal and new product distribution to every account. Positioning, pricing, and relationships with support to back the DSD customer's business will conquer daily scorecard watching everyday. Thee is no timely support from management to combat Coke's corporate plays against Pepsi in Tampa, and local DSL management is wearing too many hats, preparing for dog and pony show trade tours, and filling in covering all the holes in the trade to assist. Good ole boy mentality runs Tampa, and old school management styles that do not make you feel as you are part of any team. Weekly meetings with the same message to sell, sell, sell, and token awards to the favorites of the group who happen to be part of the annual diversity goal to promote. Awful place to work and feel good about your job everyday, or secure about your position next week. Family life outside of the 11+ hour shifts and off day phone calls, forget about having a life, and when you're off, all you can think about is what crap am I going to walk into when I get back. No exit interviews to seek out why so many good people are leaving, as if they don't want documentation stating the obvious, as they know it is bad and aren't going to correct. Not as bad in other locations I've heard, just Tampa, but good luck trying to transfer out to one of them.

    Advice to Management

Change the local leadership before you turn into SEA completely. 1980's style management of the whippings won't stop until the morale gets better don't work. Wake up NY and Orlando! You know what's going on in Tampa, fix it before it's too late, and it may be too late already looking at your market share.
