I worked at Pharmaco-kinesis full-time
- Not a lot of management oversight (especially technical management), which at best can be a good or bad thing depending on a person's experience level in medical device. -Employee (engineers, scientists, clerical, and HR) work hours are more equivalent to shift work than salary. Employees expected to be at work at 8am sharp and leave at 5pm daily (No flex time work schedule). This is unusual for a start up environment, but can be preferable if you enjoy standardized hours.
- The company is a revolving door for employees, who usually stay no longer than a year, and either quit or are let go. This is probably due in part to the proceeding Cons listed below: - Lacks of a clear business model or a defined product development path with milestones - Lack of engineering management, especially in the day-to-day operations (No daily technical oversight). - Upper management and advisory board look good on paper, but are relatively non-existent in the operation of the company, or in defining clear progress goals to the employees. - No employee loyalty, and very political environment. - A lot of hand waving with minimal or no results. - Raises and Reviews are not systematic (very unorganized employee evaluation system)
