I worked at Philips Lighting full-time (More than 5 years)

There are some great benefits with Philips. I would say they mostly have pretty good salary pay. I worked with a good team of people, who worked hard for sales, in customer service, quotes, factory, etc. There are some good discounts you can get outside of Philips for working there. They have an employee store that sells some of their own products but it is very limited.

They try to not pay sales people their commissions and want to cut them off when they reach a certain number. They also don't have a good system to keep track of their commissions. Some of their management doesn't care at all about the customer. They can be nasty to them to such a point that accounts have to be handed over to someone else or have been lost. Some divisions are slow at handling everything and customer service lacks in some areas. Keep changing management for some employees and you never even meet them. And they let go of some employees, or they quit, never to replace that position. This creates extra work for others who are not compensated for it. I have seen an employee cheat Philips on their corporate credit cards in which Philips is informed and nothing gets done about it.

    Advice to Management

Treat customers with respect. Speed up your production times in some divisions.
