Hotel discounts and opportunities to grow (but only in management positions, hourly associates are not considered anything more than base workers that are replaceable)
Like everyone has said, micromanagement at its best. I had never experienced it until coming to Pillar and it's quite petty and stressful. Limited budgets with nothing being funded into the hotel directly. You can't expect the hotel managers to pull GSS out of the yellow or red zones with old beat up hotels and nothing but "talk" about a renovation in the "near future." My hotel is not up to any Marriott standards and I would never let my family stay in it.
Advice to Management
Get it together and stop milking money to the top. It's time to reconsider your whole structure. Perhaps the problem is you?! I have experienced so much support with other companies I do not understand why Pillar has so many issues. Your "wonderful and creative ideas" to make changes for the best are nothing but ideas. Without implementing them, supporting the staff, working with hotel managers and monitoring the process nothing will change. It really surprises me how many bad reviews Pillar has and corporate is probably still patting themselves on the back. You really need to listen to employees, or do you still think "oh it's just one hotel?"
