I worked at Rabobank America full-time (More than 8 years)

-Excellent health insurance and above average vacation/sick time -Most company facilities are nice -There's ample opportunity to learn That's it...

-Ridiculously low wages for several skilled positions -Promotions are completely arbitrary and typically given to the same people -No accountability for management when things go poorly (They always tell executive management that everything is perfect) -Poor corporate culture (Failures are always blamed on employees. Employees and managers are always at odds. Different regions within California are always at odds with each other) -Incoherent strategy for future growth (A new "strategy" is announced every few months then nothing changes) -Lack of resources devoted to crucial elements within the company...Information Technology is an unmitigated disaster in its current state as well as departments responsible for federal regulatory compliance. -Most departments are experiencing a crushing workload due to lack of experienced staff after a recent restructuring/consolidation. Several experienced employees were either laid off or left the company exacerbating the problem. There's more, but these were the issues most obvious to me during my employment.

    Advice to Management

-Engage frontline employees more often instead of relying on the information provided by supervisors. -Commit to a strategy and see it through -Invest in your people instead of expensive "showpiece"buildings in Roseville and Santa Maria -Improve Human Resources so they're not just there to hire and fire people -Pay competitive wages to attract talented employees
