I worked at Rain For Rent full-time (More than a year)
High base pay with average commissions.
The company is old and family owned, which is great in that they try to take care of employees and promote from within, the problem is there is a lot of favoritism and therefore a lot of unqualified managers in the company. Blame tends to get deflected down regardless of who's at fault. If you are an entry level employee you better have thick skin and be prepared to document your job performance to protect yourself. The expectation is that if you are salaried you WILL work well in excess of 40 hours per week and as a Sales Rep., even though there is a schedule that's supposed to rotate, expect to be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The company's internal processes are a mess. You have to receive approval from management for nearly everything you do and will be second-guessed on your schedule and how you prioritize your time on a regular basis regardless of how well you perform. Also, be prepared to spend the majority of your time filling out paperwork and waiting on their ridiculously slow networks.
Advice to Management
Rather than focus on growth overseas, focus on streamlining our internal processes, and improving employee work/life balance. Instead of asking employees to do a wider and wider variety of work, eliminate unnecessary reporting requirements and simplify people's jobs so they can focus on their primary tasks.
