I have been working at Safeway part-time (Less than a year)

I like the discounts, the schedule flexibility, work with some cool people, and it's an overall clean store. The majority of customers are nice and polite.

I work in the Starbucks kiosk and working the closing shift is rough. Having to be by myself for 6 hours with no break, no time to go to the bathroom, and having to help every customer is tiring. Also being all alone when a bunch of customers come at once and order 4 drinks a pop and taking care of that while the next people in line have to wait a long time is bothersome. I literally do the work of 2 people and then some. Sometimes it gets old having to explain that we don't have the things that a free standing, company-operated Starbucks has. The pay could be better. Also the hours are not consistent. One week I will have 37 hours and the next it goes down to 24. Having a second job can be crucial because of this.

    Advice to Management

Cross-train. Allow those who are scheduled to work by themselves to get at least a 10 minute break while having another store employee cover for that short amount of time.
