SmartFocus – London, England
SmartFocus is the worldwide leader in delivering on-demand intelligent email, mobile and social campaigns. The SmartFocus mission is to provide… SmartFocus
I worked at SmartFocus full-time (More than a year)
None. Any reviews on this site that are positive are either from people that haven't been at the company long or who have been asked to post a positive review. When I was working there it was routine to ask employees to post positive reviews in an attempt to make the company look good. Also, any reviews claiming that the negative reviews are from people who couldn't handle the 'SmartFocus way' are seriously misguided.
It's hard to know where to start. As other reviews state the product does not deliver on what is promised. The vast majority of clients use the product for email only and I can imagine only because they do not want to deal with the cost of changing platforms, for now. Sales deals are built on lies and false promises just to get the deal across the line. Any major deals result in half of the company having to drop everything to deliver on what was promised by senior members of the company desperate to hit their target. Career development, product training, company strategy, company culture, transparency about company performance, and many other core components of a successful business are completely non-existent at SmartFocus. Talented people are left to try and figure it out on their own and then thrown out the door when they don't deliver on what was expected, even though it is never really clear what is expected of each role. New hires arrive only to be told the role they were hired for is not needed anymore, they are then thrown into a role they have no experience in and expected to deliver results immediately. It's obvious that the company is trying to build the bare bones of a solution that reflects current market trends in order to attract potential buyers. One can only hope that these potential buyers see past the lies and the shiny facade the company presents to see what is really going on - dysfunctional, incompetent management, unmotivated employees, and a product that is poorly built and miles behind what the competition offers.
