The pay is decent for the hotel industry. Ski passes.
Total lack of communication throughout the entire hotel. Long hours with no consistency in shifts and/or weekly hours. Incompetent managers on all levels. Ridiculous employee shuttle service. Laughable insurance. Frequently understaffed.
Advice to Management
Treat your employees like people, not ants or machines. Stop sitting behind desks, walk a mile in your employees shoes. Here is how a normal day begins at the St Regis Deer Valley: 1. Take a shuttle 2. Enter the hotel next to the garbage. 3. Hope your uniform is clean and ready for you. 4. Change in a locker room that smells terrible. 5. Hope there is a radio available from security. 6. Wait forever for the service elevator. (AND ALL THIS IS BEFORE A SHIFTS STARTS) 7. Begin work in understaffed conditions. 8. Hope you get a lunch break. 9. Hope there is a) still food in the employee lunch room. b) hope it is edible/healthy. 10. Hope your shift ends on time so you can catch the shuttle on time. 11. Repeat the process again tomorrow.
