I worked at Stream Global Services full-time
I was trained and worked as Technical Support on a fairly big contract for a complicated piece of software. I had a full six weeks of paid training, with regular tests to weed out the ones who were at the very bottom of the barrel. I left two weeks after starting my actual work when I realized it really wasn't for me, with no consequences. There are some pretty cool people who work there.
Whatever you do for training, the work blows. Customers are angry and dismissive. And the company is set up in such a way that there is zero room for individuality. The primary metric by which you are judged is how many 9-10 star reviews you get over how long your calls are. The leaders and direct managers are just as bound by policy as the grunts, and the soul-suckiness of it all was too much for me.
Advice to Management
Afford your team leaders and managers some level of discretion and control, please.
