The vision and values of the ED often don't trickle down to upper management. For example, the ED encouraged communication, innovation, and collaboration but I experienced many cases where directors got in the way of these things or actively discouraged them. I heard this from other staff as well. Some supervisors are intense micro-managers; others are completely hands off. Some staff have work loads that are outrageously huge and some departments have lots of staff turnover.
Advice to Management
Support staff in having more reasonable work schedules. Plan the timing and roll out of new initiatives more effectively so that staff don't get frustrated and confused.
