I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 5 years)

Good benefits, most co-workers willing to help you, job security.

Took 4 years to get promoted to a Department supervisor...biggest mistake of my life to take the job, only a few dollars more an hour and they work department managers to the bone, and sometimes staffing levels were so weak, that you had to be the glorified sales associate, and it left you no time to actually do your management duties...then it would come back to bite you in your rear...the upper management would say things like "You need to manage your time better" how do you manage your time better when you spend your entire shift on a cash register, because you cant hire any more cashiers, and you don't have enough cashiers? The pay was decent, but definitely not enough to match up with the stress level and workload they make their DH's have. Left the company for lowes which offered me almost double pay, and A LOT less stress.

    Advice to Management

Grow up, treat employees the way you want to be treated.
