I have been working at The Warehouse part-time (More than 3 years)
The pay is really good. And the upper management does try it's best to make things easy in store.
You're expected to do more than you signed up for. There is favouritism in some stores and not everyone is on the same playing field. You could be asked to work over time on the day but may not be paid the extra hours. I feel that more than the work and effort people climb up the ladder by pulling the right string. I feel there is no sense of fairness and the work environment itself isn't to great. If this is your first job , there will be no guidance however your mistakes will be blown out of proportion. I feel that there is no team environment and going into work everyday , makes you worried as you don't know what you will be walking into. You're expected to work in all areas of the store however your pay rate remains the same. Which I find unfair. There is sometimes a negative feel when you walk into store and I think that can definitely be improved on. Personally speaking , I feel the initial management could have been more considerate and caring towards employee's who just started out rather then rage at them when they make errors , or spread gossip about the errors.
Advice to Management
I feel that the management could definitely improve , by having a more friendly approach to all staff members and keeping the equity and fairness intact.
