I worked at Total Wine & More part-time (More than 3 years)

The Job is Fun overall. And employees are enthusiastic to work but most of the things I have to say about this company are not positive. I kept a smile on my face while I was their but I was used and not paid well.

Females will not be paid the same as their male counterparts. I was always early and over volunteered for tasks and somehow that was negative. I don't know how you put a negative spin on being eager to over-commit to your job. If a customer puts in a complaint that you have no memory of you will still be written up. The customer is always right even if they are harassing you. They have no employee loyalty even if you are 100% committed.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the office and help customers. You have scared customers away with your transparent laziness. Also don't try to put a negative spin on someones work to try to give them less of a raise. Especially when my male counterparts who always showed up late or not at all got a significantly higher raise than I did. This is a glass ceiling at its finest. I left the first chance I had and now make more than supervisors in the company. You need to pay your employees fairly and not pay your higher management 2-8 times more than the average employee.
