Overwhelmingly the students are the best part of Trinity even though a great number of them are underprepared. The parking is free. Its is located in a pretty good part of DC; it doesn't feel much like the city, at all. The salaries for mid-level employees are comparable to others in the region and benefits are good.
They claim to have a mission of social justice but its really one of social control. The president is overly involved in the day-to-day operations. She sits in her office day in and day out micromanaging faculty and staff when she should be out raising money. The school is dilapidated, paint chipping, rodent infested--even the students sometimes go without heat & hot water for weeks at a time in the dorms. The Provost is woefully inept and as a result, the place is running on bubble gum and paperclips. And worst of all, she take shortcuts with students. Too many students graduate unprepared and without completing their course requirements.
Advice to Management
The president should be given credit for saving the institution, but she has overstayed her welcome. The Board should remove the president and they should hire a qualified provost.
