    Positive Outlook

I worked at UW Whitewater as an intern (More than a year)

    - Your supervisors will work with your class and extracurricular schedule to find a good work schedule. They understand that school comes first. I've never had any issues if I had to leave early, miss a day because of illness, or work less during finals week - Depending on which area you work in, you may be able to work from home, as long as you get your work done - This internship really got my foot in the door when it came to what I wanted to do after graduation. It's a great opportunity!! You'll also get to meet a TON of students and staff members during training, diversity events and holiday events

    - While all of the internships are paid, when my coworker and I broke it down, we got around $4 an hour. Depending on the internship, you'll receive somewhere around $1500-2000 per semester working 10-15 hours a week - Depending on which department you want to work in, you may have to work after hours/on the weekends, but it says so up front in the job description - The first supervisor I had was AWESOME. She outlined the entire internship, helped my coworker and I grow professionally, and let us do our own creative thing. The second supervisor I had was absolutely awful. She knew practically nothing about the department I was working in and stirred drama in the workplace. You will most likely interview with your potential supervisor, so you'll get an understanding of who you will be reporting to

    Advice to Management

    - CARE about your interns. Don't pick favorites, don't make up drama, and don't dismiss our ideas so easily - We can tell when you're bored or dissatisfied with the interns or your job. Remember, we look up to you. Be better role models - professionally and casually
