    I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (More than 3 years)


    I had reviewed my previous position on here, but I have changed jobs so I figured I would update my review. The differences in my job satisfaction between my former customer service position and my position now are polar opposites. I work in claims now. Amazing work/life balance, option to flex on holiday weekends (leave early and make up the time), great communication with direct supervisors. Great team work, easy to get things done and fixed. Nothing like my previous department where I felt alone, there was no usable escalation system, etc... This department has got it's stuff in order! Makes life and conducting business so much better. Great pay, great benefits - especially since they added an option for a supplemental accident plan that is similar to Aflac. In addition, the opportunity to work from home is a real blessing.


    I really wish all departments at UHC could be like the one I am in now. I accepted a job offer outside of the company and got this position at the last minute before my 2 week notice was up. I had no trouble finding multiple job offers outside of UHC, but only was able to get 2 interviews inside of the company. There needs to be a better system for promoting from within based on ability.

    Advice to Management

    Can you please respond to some of the delta comments on here instead of just the positive ones? I do apologize if I have missed those responses, but I am very interested to know what is being done about creating a more positive work environment for our customer service people. Call center work is hard, it's going to be hard anywhere and people get burned out easy in this position. This is not the fault of UHC, it goes with the nature of customer service, but there are things that companies can do for their employees to prevent burnout and the company sees a return in better performance and decreased turnover. Forget engagement. Think bigger. Go for an Employee Centric environment. We need it and so do our customers.
