I have been working at University of Kent full-time (More than 3 years)
Staff are very friendly, plenty of benefits (ie. flexible working time, cycle to work scheme, coffee meetings) and a generally positive atmosphere.
Innovative and fresh ideas are generally roadblocked because senior management is quite stagnant and reluctant to change. Not the best place for a middle manager with aspirations to improve systems and functions.
Advice to Management
Be proactive with change, don't fear it.
