Base pay is about on par with other inside sales roles in the Denver region and once established commissions can be fairly sizable.
A family business with little advancement opportunity unless your blood or marry in. The Special treatment to family seemed to belittle others in the workplace. As a family founded, owned ,and operated organization they of course should run there business as they please, and they seem to have found a system that brings in enough revenue to make it all worthwhile. That's good because its unlikely they'll ever deviate. I don't recommend trying to suggest any changes or doing it "your way". Just read their script just like its written (as if a nine year old wrote it) and accept the 9 out of 10 hangups that result as well as the rude reception you will receive from the hotel owners and their various family members who you will be calling repeatedly to sell, "pretty much everything for hotels".. Granted hotel owners, primarily the Patel and Bhakta's families are unique business people- cheap,skeptical, and relentless when in comes to getting better pricing, and the theory employed by Valiant to go in with the cheapest product first, makes good sense for that market, but there are numerous areas for improvements related to their processes and treatment of clients they could benefit from . But as the saying goes, you cant teach an old dog new tricks, and 50 years in business I suppose does earn them the right to be stubborn,even if they don't know what's best for em.
Advice to Management
Explore new ideas, listen to the talent you hire, grow, modernize, acknowledge the business intelligence outside of your tiny brick building in the hood.
