I worked at Verizon Wireless (More than 3 years)
benefits. good health care package, stock options and tuition reimbursement plan.
The benefits are great, but there is an obvious reason. The company has to provide its employees with some incentive to stay. This company is an absolute disaster. When you look at the executives, everyone from Regional presidents down to store managers, NO ONE has an education and if you are one of the smarter employees who actually went to college, trust me, it won't mean anything. Regardless, you will start at the bottom in retail sales. You will work EVERY weekend and every holiday. Again, there is a reason why the benefits package is attractive. It is a very political company. Your education isn't valued to the extent that it should be and the only thing that company really cares about is what you did for them lately. Management is a joke, store managers get off every weekend but if a rep asks for a weekend off, your career goals and aspirations will be questioned.
Advice to Management
Hire educated people, even at the store manager level, hire educated people. Your stores are ran like zoos and unfortunately, its the only place where people can start because you don't take outsiders into headquarters.
