    I have been working at Viasystems full-time


    Willing to hire employees without Canadian citizenship. HR department willing to assist employees in obtaining citizenship.


    Unprofessional - no department meetings, no employee performance review for the past 2 years. Zero management feedback - no encouragement / reward for excellence; no criticism / consequence for negative behaviour. Micromanagement - lack of transparency in work procedures, organizational structural changes. In an effort for low level management to hold onto their job security, much of the rudimentary work knowledge and procedures are withheld from employees, resulting in employees needing to consult management on every little issue, reducing work efficiency many fold. Extreme favouritism - it's impossible for employees to negotiate raises, career advancements, or even to request an annual inflation pay adjustment from management. These are given as favors only to friends of the management, entirely not based on merit / contribution to the organization. These friends of the management also happen to all be of the same race as the management... Which brings us to the last point - Racism - the company does not promote a friendly, open & accepting environment. Albeit it's a very multi-cultural work place, people of the same ethnicity huddle together and communicate in their own languages, even on work topics/during work sessions. After many complaints, HR had issued an "English is the work place language" memo. However, management is simply not interested in promoting / enforcing said memo, so the little tight knit social circles based on race still carry on, sabotaging the team spirit, creating alienation.

    Advice to Management

    Short of a complete overhaul...it will be impossible to achieve professionalism, respect in the work place, fairness, equality...
