Salary, benefits, and vacation are generous. Never a shortage of work to do! Many experienced coworkers.
Many systems are not adequate or just don't work. Many manual processes in place to make up for the shortcomings of systems. There is little desire to invest in or upgrade tools. Communication is not good. Culture is not collaborative. I don't think I've met anyone here that likes their job.
Advice to Management
You have to find some way to improve the culture. Employees that are afraid of losing their jobs are innovative or imaginative, they are heads-down-do-it-like-we've-always-done types. That's not a way to compete if you want to be a 'tech company'.
