The pay is fairly reliable if you are permanent.
Pay does NOT keep pace with cost of living, benefits are shrinking, retirement options have gone from excellent to inadequate. Morale is in the tubes.
Advice to Management
Hiring outside people when you have highly qualified personnel with years of experience in the ranks that want to advance undermines retention.
