I worked at White House Black Market (Less than a year)
If you don't want a lot of hours, great place to work. Friendly coworkers. Promote great charities and stand by a great motto, "Making Women Feel Beautiful." Usually met time-off requests when placed in advance.
Unorganized, out-of-date, and inconsiderate with scheduling. Cannot guarantee a set amount of hours each with (ie. 16 hours/week, etc.) No commission for sales associates. Not enough for sales associates to do. Too many people and therefore not enough hours to distribute fairly.
Advice to Management
Better communication between associates and managers. Put scheduling online -- viewing and requesting time off. Hire associates based on how much they are willing to work; don't over-hire and then not have enough hours to distribute.
