GI Specialists of Georgia has been serving the region for over 30 years and provides Marietta residents with access to specialty gastroenterology care at multiple office locations and dedicated endoscopy centers. We are searching for a candidate to answer incoming calls made by patients, vendors, insurance companies and other medical facilities. Processing referrals and front office communications in a timely manner. Create outpatient appointments and schedule open access colonoscopy screening procedures in an efficient, professional approach within a high-volume call setting.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
· Ability to minimize patient call wait times per practice guidelines
· Schedule open access colonoscopy screening procedures and appointments via telephone from the patient or as requested by a referring physician
· Ensures that all requested orders are current, pre-cert requests have been forwarded and applicable notes are documented within the practice EMR
· Direct patients on how to obtain required information prior to their appointment/procedure and explain prior preparatory requirements
· Obtains all pertinent paperwork and enters required information accurately into the practice EMR
· Maintain consistent and positive communication with staff on any changes in provider schedules
· Manage wait lists, bump lists, and telephone encounters as needed
· Process incoming referrals as needed
· Reviewing physician schedules regularly to maximize capacity and verify correct scheduling
· Knowledge of practice operations and key personnel to ensure timely and appropriate call routing
· Understanding of how to navigate in the practice EMR software to pull and forward requested information
· Provide excellent customer service skills and demonstrates a high level of professionalism
· Other duties may be assigned
