Demand for home health aides is growing astronomically. Turnover is high, and an aging American population with higher rates of chronic illness is increasing demand for all healthcare related services. Additionally, families increasingly prefer for elderly family members and those with disabilities to remain in their homes rather than entering nursing homes, group living situations or hospitals. A high school diploma is typically required, although some postsecondary coursework at community college or vocational schools can increase the competitiveness of an application.
