    Data Translator, Business Intelligence

    Job Summary:

    The Data Translator, Business Intelligence position reports to the Manager of Business Intelligence and plays a key role in advancing reporting and analytics goals at Estes. As a Data Translator, you will serve as a liaison between technical experts and business executives facilitating effective communication and ensuring that data driven solutions provide value for the organization. In addition, you will drive adoption of reports through proactively training end users to identify actionable insights within reports. This position requires data visualization skills, general technical fluency, effective communication, and a passion for learning and solving problems.

    • Meet with business stakeholders to identify reporting needs and identify which key metrics drive value.
    • Facilitate report brainstorming sessions with business stakeholders and guide ideas to remain compliant with Estes reporting style guide.
    • Develop design sketches of visually appealing and interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations based on stakeholder requirements and data analysis needs.
    • Translate business requirements into technical requirements and be available to answer any questions from the development team.
    • Collaborate effectively with business leadership, team members, data engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the final product is valuable, trustworthy, and insightful.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to build, prioritize, and define workflows and requirements.
    • Drive report adoption through training end users on how to navigate, interpret, and effectively utilize business intelligence reports. Provide guidance and support to ensure users can access, analyze, and interpret data accurately and confidently.
    • Lead an analytics initiative from ideation through production and adoption, with proper communication throughout.
    • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Power BI, data visualization techniques, and business intelligence tools. Identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities, streamline processes, and improve data analysis efficiency.
    • Take ownership of professional development by staying informed about industry trends, attending training sessions, webinars, and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge in business intelligence, data analysis, and Power BI.
    • Regular attendance is required.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background; MBA preferred.
    • 3 or more years of developing reports with a dynamic BI Tool required.
    • Previous experience using Microsoft Power BI preferred.
    • Five or more years of analysis and/or general business experience preferred.
    • Ability to distill complex information into easily understood reports/documents and champion data visualization principles/best practices required.
    • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and manage expectations.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in an agile environment.
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience with JIRA is a plus.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
    • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

    • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
    • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
    • Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
