We focus on multi-family, senior, and hospitality development sectors. AVA designs, engineers, and manufactures industry-leading full volumetric modular units for the multi-family apartment and hospitality industries in the Upper Midwest in a 180,000 ft2 state-of-the-art facility in Albertville, Minnesota.

Job Description:

The Industrial Engineering Intern will work on targeted projects that require operational observations, data collection/analysis, cross-functional communication, and problem-solving. The internship will include assignments on challenging and industry-specific projects and tasks that a traditional Industrial Engineer would support in a manufacturing environment.

The Industrial Engineering Intern will provide support with the day-to-day operation and project-based assignments. The focus will be on continuous improvement and business optimization for operations.

This position requires attention to detail, analytical abilities, and a creative mind to invent solutions to improve quality and internal processes related to information sharing, data analysis, etc.

Job Requirements:

This is and on-site position that requires daily commuting to our site location in Albertville, MN. Remote work is not available for this role, candidates must be able to commute to location on a daily basis.

Job Responsibilities:

• Recommend methods for improving the utilization of personnel, material, and equipment
• Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine workflow processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
• Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using CAD.
• Evaluate material handling equipment requirements, as needed.
• Conduct observations and time studies on the manufacturing floor to suggest improvements and create efficiencies.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree Program with a focus on Industrial Engineering.
• AutoCAD or similar CAD software experience
• Strong communication skills both written and oral.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment.
