ALSTOM Redmond, WA isn't hiring right now. Check out all ALSTOM jobs
I worked at ALSTOM as a contractor (Less than a year)
Alstom recruiters are great at pairing people and creating teams. Everyone arrives to work with a positive, roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and contributes to projects in a big way. When we're on, we're on full throttle! Amazing sense of completion and accomplishment!
One of the challenges, depending on an individual's preferences, could be that work time and personal time lines are blurred. Even though office time requirements were 6 hours a day, the drive to complete projects and meet and exceed deadlines was high, to the point of staying up until midnight or later for a period of 3 months at a time. If you're capable of playing and working hard, then this is the place for you. If you're more laid back, take a different company.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ALSTOM (Redmond, WA) in February 2013.
HR interview was simple and easy. asked a couple of questions about the resume and start dates. 1 week later and on site interview with 8 different engineers and managers. The interview took 6 hours total including lunch. Most of the interview questions where resume related and power systems related. A couple of programming questions as well.
