I have been working at Arm full-time (More than a year)

I started one and half years ago at ARM and I like it! The company treats engineers with high respect and offers competitive rewards and benefits. The IoT business unit I work for is doing truly full-stack development, from embedded to backend and web front and everything in-between so my skill set is almost guaranteed to stay future-proof.

Competent colleagues and the office location at the very center of Oulu don't hurt either. All in all, I very much enjoy my position as Software Engineer at ARM.

The future of IoT business is uncertain, and the fast growing office brings in some challenges.

    Software Support Engineer Interview

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Arm (Oulu (Finland)) in November 2016.

First part was with the resource in charge of the role. Was held via Skype, since the location difference. It presented a fair information about the role, but was not anything special.

Second part I was invited to the premise (flight, cab etc) which was a day's worth of traveling. The interview in person didn't quite fit the justification of having someone travel an entire day, just to answer a few typical mediocre interview questions ("What was your best accomplishment and why do you think so?", "What is your biggest weakness?", etc.). Also figuring out my technical skills based upon 8 questions regarding Linux systems and SQL could have been done via video call.

Overall also got served with the impression of: "Alright, here is this guy who applied for some future position here, ask him few questions from this paper and send him off again."
