I have been working at Aurora Health Care full-time (More than 5 years)
I have worked for other large healthcare organizations. In meetings the other organizations would frequently stir up worry among the workers about what the competition is doing (i.e. Aurora). This would cause people to be concerned for their jobs. I have been with Aurora for almost 7 years now. I have never, not even once, heard leadership stir up worry among staff about what the competition is doing. It is encouraging to see Aurora Leadership focus on what they do best and continue to try to do it better! This helps caregivers focus on what's important...patient care, not useless competition that they can't do anything about anyway. Great job Aurora!!!
Because of its size, sometimes when changes are made it takes time for those changes to get communicated to everyone. But that's part of being big.
Advice to Management
Keep caregivers focused on caregiving as you always do...not on competition with other healthcare providers like other organizations are doing.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Aurora Health Care (Green Bay, WI) in March 2018.
Very friendly and personable human resources representative. A very thorough explanation of the job details were given. Before the interview could take place, I had to submit 5 references including 3 former/current bosses, the other 2 had to be colleagues. Only once the references completed their recommendations, was I even considered for an interview.
