I was given decent equipment. The training for corporate goals was innovative. The President communicated well.
They did have very good coffee in the break room. Most of the employees in the Troy location were friendly.
First, they hired the wrong person for the job. I am a senior database developer with no experience with C#. I was there around 2 months and was only give one small assignment that I was qualified to accomplish. Mostly they had me upgrading a terrible old C# windows application. I stressed several times that I was uncomfortable with the project, but they did nothing.
They did have a decent C# developer on the team that was working on SQL work, and was struggling with it.
On my start date they did not have a desk for me. They ended up moving me a few times before I was moved to a desk in a hallway with two people from accounting.
Several time I attempted to complete work on a project, only to find that the same work had been created on 2 tickets for separate departments.
Also, my supervisor was very strange. He had an odd management style that was not conductive to a professional environment.
Parking was a nightmare, if you left for lunch you would have to park next door or across the street.
Advice to Management
You need to focus on Troy. There are way too many people crammed into a tiny office. Every one is over worked, and there is no clear definition of departments and rolls. If you are going to have these satellite offices you should pay attention to them.
