I have been working at Brightcove full-time (More than a year)
Lots of Pro's ! - we are in the media space which is very exciting - working with nearly every large media company on the planet. So exciting to know that even that a large number of streaming applications are Brightcove. Fun place to work, lots of new people who are full of ideas and optimism. Great sales kickoff, entire global sales and marketing was invited and was highly inspirational. Looking forward to being part of the success going forward.
I don't necessarily think of it as a con, but the company has been through a transformation and those that are not forward looking and optimistic could be caught in the past. Several people liked the "old" culture and there is some complacency, company is finally growing again and hopefully those stuck in the past can reinvigorate themselves and be part of our great future.
Advice to Management
I appreciate the "be proud" culture and clear roles and responsibilities we all have. Change is a good thing, but ensuring the people are aware and part of the change and understand the "why" is very important. I appreciate the opportunity to be part of Brightcove
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Brightcove (Boston, MA) in April 2016.
It was totally RUDE....!!!! . I don't want to mention the name of the guy who called me, but he gave me zero respect as a candidate and he was talking as if he has found out the Big Bang all by himself.
Everyone makes mistakes , this guy didn't even give a chance to make a mistake and he was criticizing me right from the start as if i have not done anything till now. I have worked for couple of clients in my short career and holds a masters degree from a reputed university.
The last thing that he told me that: He asked me whether i have done anything challenging in this world.
A kind suggestion to the people who work and interview candidates : please don't make them look fools. You were once in their situation , looking for job.
