I have been working at CPI Security Systems full-time (More than 8 years)
I thoroughly enjoy working for CPI. Everyone here is enthusiastic about the work they do. The HR Department and entire senior staff, even the CEO, is incredibly involved in the business and will greet you by name when they see you. The perks to the job are incredible, I've never seen anything like it in any other business I've been at, from concert tickets to game tickets to trips. Most of the perks you don't even have to do anything outstanding to receive just being a good employee and doing your best is enough. I'm 8 years in and I still enjoy being with CPI.
You have to be willing to work hard and put in the time and effort. If you're not willing to you aren't going to make money and you aren't going to be happy. The biggest reason people leave the company is they're not willing to work hard.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at CPI Security Systems (Charlotte, NC) in November 2015.
I waited in the lobby for a measurable amount of time on each interview visit. I find time management the #1 sign of professionalism and CPI failed in this regard. This implies that there is no importance placed on me as a professional. There is a palpable feeling of pretentiousness with most members of management. None of the people I interviewed with were prepared or had read through my resume. They all asked basic questions that were not thought out in advance or crafted to see my ability to deduct logic. CPI would benefit from fine tuning their hiring process and running that channel of their business similar to a larger corporation. CPI should also make sure the people (management) conducting interviews do not talk bad about their fellow co-workers or CEO. First impressions go beyond an elaborate building, elegant lobby and delightful greater.
