I worked at Carbon Black as a contractor (More than 5 years)
The CEO has high integrity, is pragmatic, inclusive and leads by example. The culture promotes and supports autonomy and ownership of work. A bias for action and iterative work is rewarded, understanding that moving fast is important and that one can learn from mistakes. Continuous focus on keeping customer's data safe keeps investment for innovation in focus. Upward and cross-team career mobility is encouraged and promoted. The People and Talent teams are exceptional.
As the company grows, has public company requirements and a larger workforce, cross team communications become more difficult.
Advice to Management
Have all team leaders meet with the CEO 1 on 1 when they first move into managing others. Then meet again 1-2 times a year for as long as they are leading other people.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Carbon Black (Boston, MA) in October 2017.
First interview - phone screening with HR which ask you basic questions about your resume and past experience. Second interview - phone screening with an engineer who asks you more technical questions regarding your academic achievements and professional projects. Third interview - onsite interview with several engineers, team leaders and HR people.
