    Project Manager Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Change Healthcare (Richmond, BC (Canada)) in January 2021.

    Interview

Applied online. HR screening. Multiple panel interviews afterwards.
Director and hiring manager obsessed about me being 'overqualified' (I am also much older than both of them). I responded to this explicit concern many times, never to their satisfaction. They described the role in a way that made it sound not important. I challenged this assumption, explaining its central role in integrating systems and departments along product, technology, quality, and regulatory lines. Their response didn't seem to indicate they liked this correction. In the end, I got a bit bored answering why I was interested in the role, and immediately saw a flat response from the panel as I began to 'check-out' mentally. Didn't receive an offer, despite my extensive research and experience in the space.
