Employees rate Sacramento 3.7% higher than the overall average
I have been working at County of Sacramento full-time (More than a year)
I have worked for several governmental agencies but this one does a very good job overall. I've never found a place where so many people in different departments are helpful to each other. Good technology integration. Very caring HR and internal worker compensation department.
It's the government. They spend a lot so anytime there is economic downturn or revenue issues they have to dial back big. Past problems have included significant layoffs where other agencies made due by freezing vacancies.
Advice to Management
Save for a rainy day.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at County of Sacramento (Sacramento, CA) in January 2015.
Panel interview with three employees. They reviewed my resume and asked about courses I was taking in school and what I wanted to have a career in. Very friendly, and explained the department's main tasks. Recommend reading up on the section before the interview as well.
