StoresOnline/Imergent compensates its Engineers excellently, and not only in dollar amount. Besides the great pay, each engineer receives top of the line hardware (with the OS of your choosing) along with other hardware perks like three 24" lcd monitors. My current set up is a MacPro w/ 4gb ram and the 3 monitors. Imergent's engineering group is led by managers who value the team spirit and reward employees on a team basis. I am always able to take time off when needed, never feel worried to ask for support from my superiors, and always feel comfortable and secure in my job environment.
Imergent, despite its long history and its size, still has a very entrepreneurial atmosphere. As a result of this, working as an engineer at StoresOnline/Imergent does not provide a lot of room for upward mobility. If you are looking for a fast track to management, this is not the place to come. However, the raises I have received have been competitive and managers are willing to work with you to help you find projects you enjoy and that are a good fit for you. If you are aggressive, individualistic, or don't appreciate a team approach to work (including bonus distribution), you will probably feel out of place at Imergent.
Advice to Management
As the engineering team is growing in size, some more structure and/or leadership positions within the ranks might provide further incentives for employees.
