I have been working at Delta Air Lines part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The flight benefits. The ready reserve program in particular is fairly flexible. Depending on how scheduling is done it allows you to have an additional full-time or part-time job to supplement your limited income. It's a fortune 500 company with many career opportunities if you are willing to relocate.

    Cons

The reserve program has limitations on how many hours you are allowed to work per year. 1400 is the current maximum hours which poses an issue for many employees who need additional income to survive. At times you may have a challenge securing a schedule that allows you to maintain an additional job.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on developing leadership and listening skills. Try to assess and limit amount of favoritism being implemented in flight scheduling and personal requests.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Delta Air Lines (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in January 2017.

    Interview

I applied online on the Delta website. The application was sort of long and repetitive. MAKE SURE YOU LOG OUT AFTERWARDS AND CHECK IF THERE'S ANOTHER PORTION YOU MUST COMPLETE.

The next day, I received an invitation for a video interview. You must complete within three days of invitation.

    Interview Questions

    • 1. Describe a time you had to adapt to new information/new policy at the workplace. What was the situation? What was the outcome?

       2. While cleaning the aircraft after your flight you witness the flight attendant taking items from the beverage cart and placing them into their pocket. No other member of the crew witness this event, but you are certain the flight attendant is stealing, the flight attendant is grabbing their items and disembarking the aircraft, what would you do?

      3. Describe a time when you displayed a high level of effort and commitment towards performing your work, what was the situation, what did you do and what was the outcome.

      4. During your preflight service check you notice so items are missing from the inventory, if you do not acquire the items, there will not be enough to serve everyone on the flight, if you request additional items the flight will most likely be delayed. What would you most likely do?

      5. You are working in the back of the airplane on a flight from Washington, DCA airport to New York's JFK airport, during the flight you walk to the front of the plane to get some needed service items. Without the items service in the aft of the plane will be delayed. On the way back to your service area, you witness two passengers engaging in a heated discussion. Although their voices are not raised, it is clear they are both upset. You overhear one passenger claim that the reclined seat is hurting their legs and demands the other passenger sit up. You need to return to your section of the plane with the supplies, but the two passengers are starting to become louder with their disagreement. What would you do?

      6. During your flight, you hear two coworkers gossiping in the galley about another coworker who is also on the flight, there are passengers within earshot of the conversation and you are sure they can hear what is being said. What would you do?

      7. Do you agree to follow Delta's rules/regulations in regards to dress code?

      8. Do you have any visible tattoos?
