I worked at Elsevier full-time
The people are extremely nice and collaborative. You are allowed a lot of independence and given adequate timelines. Management is very encouraging, flexible and accommodating. They are also open to new ideas and will supply you with anything you need to accomplish your tasks. The benefits are top notch. They provide vacation, sick days, personal days, and community service days with excellent health coverage.
The only downside was the salary is on the low side.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Elsevier (Atlanta, GA) in June 2010.
I applied and got a call within a week. I then panel interviewed with the potential manager, director, and potential co-worker. Interview was pretty easy. Describe my job history and how I would fit in.
Not really negotiation just that they wouldn't go over a certain amount.
