I worked at Florida SouthWestern State College full-time (More than 3 years)
The pay is good and you are not required to work summer. Equipment in the classrooms are maintained and students have the ability to do a lot of hands on assignments.
The administration does not support the student. Many of the students have been at the college too long without proper counseling and never graduate. Many of the students have no idea what they are studying or what classes they need to graduate. Many classes are never offered on some campuses but they are promised.
Advice to Management
Do not promise what you can not deliver. Treat the students as the customer and respect the opinions and of your faculty. Do not be bullies and do not retaliate when you do not get what you want.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Florida SouthWestern State College (Punta Gorda, FL) in February 2012.
The interview process is very disorganized. It is difficult to understand who is interviewing you and why. There are people from different departments that sit in on the demonstration and if you don't know someone on campus, it may be impossible to get interviewed. They say they follow a procedure but they breach it.
