I have been working at GLG full-time (More than a year)
GLG is extremely fast-paced and as a result you really get a sense of buzz in the everyday working life. Hours are intense but work life balance is good compared to other finance/consulting type roles.
Management in EMEA has a clear direction of where the business unit is headed and the engagement team structure allows this to be communicated down well as well as making the teams feel engaged and that they have a say in the direction/growth of the company.
True meritocracy and high performance is rewarded with v. good pay.
Opportunity to own client relationships relatively early in career and to lead people.
Benefits to London employees are quite basic at the moment but I hear that these are being reviewed this year. New HR team making a real difference.
Lots of internal meetings despite a determination to reduce them.
For those that aren’t treating each project as a chance to learn then they really don’t get as much out of the job as can get. There are people here who have been with the company for 8-9+ years and still clearly enjoy working here.
Some inconsistency in performance of Team Leaders.
Advice to Management
Cut out all the internal meetings in order to keep serving clients as best as possible

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at GLG (London, England (UK)) in January 2017.
You get to meet many different members of the GLG team during the interview process, if you speak languages those will also be tested, along with your knowledge of GLG's business model and your motivation for the role.
