I have been working at GLG full-time (More than 3 years)
The best part of GLG is the people: working alongside curious, driven, supportive colleagues; servicing diverse clientele from financial services to corporate backgrounds; and interfacing with experts at the top of their respective fields all around the world. I can genuinely say that some of the people I’ve met at GLG have become my lifelong friends. The work is fast paced and across industries, so there is always an opportunity to learn new things and it never gets dull. The company is also in an incredible growth phase and strives for continuous improvement, so it’s exciting to work for a global company with a start-up feel and mentality.
The state of constant change can be frustrating and confusing. Mid-level managers don’t receive much formal training prior to working with direct reports; when people leave the company, it’s typically as a result of poor management experience. Consistent long hours and can sometimes be stressful.
Advice to Management
Create more opportunities to deliver and receive 360 feedback. Support managers with more structured and iterative training.
