I have been working at Jack Henry & Associates as a contractor (Less than a year)
Pros
Good people working who are scared out of their wits and are just biding their time to get out
Cons
I should have known since the entire team was new. No one has survived this place which is a political night mare. Very unprofessional environment, no documentation, no standards, one person tries to hold everything in head for job security. Person got scared since I came in and implemented code that this person had not been able to implement for over 2 years. This became a political nightmare and not sure what stories this person fed to the director, but I got a call from my contracting company that I was not supposed to go into work next day. I only started 2 weeks ago and out of that I spent only one week on actual code during which time I fixed over 5-6 of the most difficult issues their application had.
Advice to Management
There is an optimum way to code and then there is a perfect way to code. The perfect way is not necessarily the most optimum way, you guys are not apple where you have the luxury of a few hundred billion dollars in cash reserves. I bet due to a few such people you will go belly up very soon. I wish you guys all the works in your business.
