Job Corps Lexington-Fayette, KY isn't hiring right now. Check out all Job Corps jobs
I worked at Job Corps full-time (Less than a year)
Somewhat flexible schedule, a base salary, helping out low income students, travel, networking ability with lawyers, Resume’ builder since you’re a government employee. Your own office. You get to get out and do different things.
The upper management is very demanding and generally doesn’t treat their employees well. They hardly tell you good job (even if you meet the ridiculously high goal numbers) and just push you harder and harder until you burn out. Turnover is very high due to burnout. For the same amount of stress, you can make an easy 30-50k per year more somewhere else. The pay is absolutely terrible for the amount of stress. Many of the students drop the program because it seems like a prison to them with the amount of structure. No opportunity to move up. It’s a good fresh out of college job or as a holdover job until you find something better but definitely would not recommend as a career.
Advice to Management
Pay employees more so they’ll stick around instead of training new people every other month. Raising goals doesn’t do anything for people already doing their job.
