I have been working at MTSI full-time (More than 5 years)
MTSI has a great culture and great people. We work hard because we care about the missions we support, but also the company, our co-workers and we're all in it together. We don't have to answer to stockholders every three months so we can focus on the long term success of the company. When I meet other MTSI co-workers from around the country I am reminded that everyone takes an ownership approach. Monthly timecard/flex option is a great perk. 100% employee owned vs owned by private equity firm.
We work on a lot of special programs and smallish teams so often aren't working in the same offices as other employees. It can be hard to learn what everyone is doing across different teams.
Advice to Management
Continue to follow our core values and focus on long term success.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at MTSI (Huntsville, AL) in January 2014.
Very congenial. It was more of an introduction to the front office. My boss had already decided on me, and the interview was more of a technicality. Prior to the interview, there is a very thorough screening process that often involves recommendation by current employees. The company is a technical company. If you don't have the background, you're at a disadvantage
