I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time (More than 10 years)
Decent comp, great experience, good professional development and friendly people.
Management is weak, moral is mediocre at best, culture is weak, turnover is high and bureaucracy tends to get in your way. For me, after any many years, it became a place that was no longer fun to work at.
Advice to Management
Take charge, get rid of the "problems" (no matter how senior) and listen to your staff/direct reports. Try harder to retain talent (the firm's motto for years now) and encourage all to get along. There's no room for pettiness in an organization of this size that wants to succeed.
